Kortare beskrivning av tipset, This document reports on an investigation carried out by the TransACTION! project partners into the operational practices and concerns of educational media producers and integrators in higher education institutions (HEIs). Report, September 2024.
The TransACTION! project on Media and Learning Design for European Higher Education brought together partners from Germany, the Netherlands, Spain, and Belgium, all involved in supporting media-based learning initiatives and activities. The primary goal was to develop and scale up effective media-based learning strategies and resources in Higher Education. The TransACTION! team created a range of practical methods and tools to support the effective use, adaptation, design, and application of multimedia teaching formats. Key outputs include:

    - Co-creation Framework for enhancing and promoting Media and Learning Design in Higher Education.
    - Open Online Courses on Media and Learning Design
    - Hub for Co-learning Media Resources for Higher Education
    - Training Activities on Media and Learning Design in Higher Education
    - Recommendation Report on strategies for Promoting Media and Learning Design in Higher Education.

Kortare beskrivning av tipset, Support is one of the crucial elements of online students’ success. Although many support strategies have been documented in the past, less is known at what stages of the learning cycle suggested interventions can be embedded into the online learning curriculum. Publicerad: Research and Practice in Technology Enhanced Learning volume 17, Article number: 2 (2022)

This paper offers a systematic review of the 28 empirical studies on effective support strategies and interventions that are indexed by the SCOPUS database between 2010 and 2020. Following an Inclusive Student Services Process Model framework, identified strategies are allocated across different phases of student learning to indicate where and when they can be delivered to online students. The analysis suggests that the effectiveness of the support provision depends on the time when support is offered. Furthermore, it was found that two areas support delivery, namely support at transitions and measurement of support interventions, remain under-researched. Finally, the analysis showed two emerging trends in online students support: an increasing role of technology and social network sites to design support interventions and a shift to a more personalised yet holistic approach to student support.

Kortare beskrivning av tipset, This book offers a much-needed framework for understanding, managing and optimising the rapid transition to online and brings together voices from the fields of pedagogy, technology, architecture. The book offers practitioners and policy makers sound practical advice and useful predictions.

As we have come to accept the duality of physical and virtual learning spaces as a permanent feature of our educational landscape, we begin to question its validity. Is this really a dichotomy, or is it a continuum? Should this be the primary dimension around which we cluster educational experiences - how does it intersect and interact with other axes, such as formal-informal, vocational-recreational, open-closed, teacher-student? How do we adapt, as teachers, learners, designers, policy makers, to this changing landscape? How do we shape it to offer an optimal learning experience? Such questions led the authors to conduct a series of academic and professional events on the theme of Hybrid Learning Spaces (HLS) - spaces which challenge and defy the dichotomies above. This edited book collates some of the products of that endeavor, offering a multi-vocal, interdisciplinary approach to hybridity in education. It connects practical examples, design directives and theoretical analysis, combining perspectives from technology research and development, educational theory and practice, architecture and space and product design. This book addresses researchers, practitioners, innovators and policy makers in education, technology and design, offering broad perspectives and then distilling practical insights in the form of design principles and patterns, pedagogical models, and predictions of future trends.
